Scope: Myth Lights applications (iOS, Android, Windows)
Data Controller: Myth Lights
1. What Data Do We Collect?
The following data is collected solely for the purpose of providing the service:
- Email address: For user registration and verification processes.
- Device identifier (UUID): To identify the purchased product.
- Location data: Your device’s approximate location (latitude/longitude) so that sunrise, sunset, moon phases, and weather simulations can operate accurately and in real time.
- Profile information: Your name and profile photo if you sign in with Google.
- Artificial intelligence interactions: Text data from queries made with the smart assistant (may be processed in anonymized form to improve service quality).
- Wi-Fi network name (SSID): The device may technically use the name (SSID) of the connected Wi-Fi network in order to establish an MQTT connection. This information is used only by the system to create a connection channel; it is not recorded, processed, or shared by Myth Lights. In Bluetooth (BLE) or Access Point (AP) modes, this information is not used and no network data is shared.
2. Purposes of Use of Data
- Creating a user account and authentication
- Pairing the purchased device with the application
- Real-time simulation of natural events (Sun, Moon, Weather)
- AI-supported smart recommendations and technical support processes
- Managing technical support and warranty processes
- Improving the application’s performance and user experience
- Fulfilling legal obligations
3. Device Connection Types and Data Transmission
The Myth Lights application may use multiple connection methods with devices:
- Bluetooth (BLE): Direct short-range communication; no personal data is transmitted.
- AP Mode (Access Point): The device creates a temporary Wi-Fi network; the connection is local and there is no internet access.
- STA Mode (Station Mode): The device connects to the user’s Wi-Fi network.
- MQTT: Activated in STA mode and provides encrypted data communication between the device and the application.
🔒 Data transmitted across all connection types is protected with TLS/SSL encryption. Myth Lights does not access, store, or share your email password, Wi-Fi password, or other sensitive information.
If you do not want your Wi-Fi network name or email address to be visible in the system, you can set up an isolated network (guest network) via your modem and/or register with an address that you do not actively use but can receive verification emails.
4. Data Retention Period
- The email address, device identifier, and pairing information are stored as long as the user account remains active.
- All data is removed immediately upon requests made via the “Delete Account” feature.
- Upon written request, data is permanently deleted within 30 days.

5. Third-Party Services
To provide application functionality, the following trusted service providers are used:
- Google Firebase: User registration, verification, and device management infrastructure.
- Google Gemini: Smart assistant and data analysis processes.
- OpenStreetMap: Map and location-based visualizations.
- NASA & MET Norway: Data providers for atmospheric and celestial data simulations.
Data is processed solely for the purpose of providing the service; no commercial sharing with third parties is carried out. Data may be transferred to cloud infrastructure services abroad only within the scope of this service and via encrypted MQTT communication.
6. User Rights (Law No. 6698 KVKK, Article 11)
Pursuant to the Personal Data Protection Law No. 6698 (“KVKK”), you have the following rights regarding your personal data:
- To learn whether your personal data is processed
- To request information if it has been processed
- To learn the purpose of processing and whether it is used accordingly
- To know the third parties to whom your data is transferred, domestically or abroad
- To request correction if your data is processed incompletely or incorrectly
- To request deletion or destruction of your data within the scope of Article 7 of the KVKK
- To request compensation for damages in the event of processing in violation of the KVKK

7. International Data Protection Compliance 🌍
Myth Lights processes the personal data of users outside Türkiye in accordance with international privacy standards. In this context, the principles defined in the GDPR (General Data Protection Regulation of the European Union) and similar global regulations — transparency, data minimization, security, and user consent — are taken as a basis.
Although Myth Lights is not directly subject to foreign data protection authorities, it processes data in compliance with the ethical and technical standards defined in such regulations. All data transfers are carried out under TLS/SSL encryption, and data is used solely for the purpose of providing the service. Personal data is never commercially shared or sold in any way.
8. Security
Personal data is protected with technical and administrative measures to prevent unauthorized access. Only authorized persons can access the data; all communication is provided through encrypted connections.
9. Thanks and Attributions (Credits) 🎖️
Data sources: Weather data is provided by MET Norway. Celestial events are provided via NASA Open APIs (this application is not endorsed or certified by NASA). Maps © OpenStreetMap contributors. Time zones use the global IANA database.
Technology: Artificial intelligence is supported by modern generative AI models. Cloud infrastructure uses global cloud service providers. Graphics and visualization use open-source visualization and animation components.

12. Delete Your Account & Data
If your app allows account creation, you have the right to delete your account and all associated data.
Option 1 — Delete from within the app (instant)
- Open the Myth Waves app and sign in.
- Go to the Help menu.
- Tap "Delete Account".
- Confirm. Your account and all data are deleted immediately.
Option 2 — Request by email
If you can no longer sign in, send an email from your registered address to mythlights@outlook.com with the subject "Account Deletion Request". We will process it within 30 days.
What data is deleted
- Account & authentication (email, login) — deleted permanently
- Profile information (name, photo) — deleted permanently
- Paired device records & settings — deleted permanently
- Location & simulation preferences — deleted permanently
- Assistant (AI) interaction data — deleted permanently
🔒 When you delete your account, all of the above is removed. We do not keep backups for marketing or commercial use.
